Hello, I’m Lex (they/them).

I’m a Master’s level supervised clinician (LCMHCA) specializing in supporting LGBTQ+ individuals and couples with navigating identity exploration, trauma, and DID and dissociation. As a disabled, neurodivergent, queer, and nonbinary person of color, I understand the importance of accessible care. I bring both my lived and professional experience to our work together in order to best support your needs.

Informed and holistic care are an important part of my work. My education, clinical experience, and training support me in my ability to best help you. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Japanese from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. During my graduate training, I worked in higher-level care for addiction and university settings. My professional career has since been in an outpatient eating disorder and disordered eating setting. In addition to these experiences, I’ve undergone training through the Embodied Recovery Institute, the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy, the Gottman Institute, Cynthasis, the Affirmative Couch, and Geek Therapeutics, among other organizations. Some of the approaches I’m trained to provide include Safe & Sound Protocol, Brainspotting, and therapeutic tabletop games.

Outside of work, I can be found spending time with my cats. They like to snuggle up with me while I read, make art, or play video games. I am also an enjoyer of board games, TTRPGs, hiking, and figure skating in my free time. My interests further inform my desire to work with you to discover and foster the strengths found in your passions and interests. I value building supportive practices that feel relevant to you and encouraging you to develop a deeper connection with yourself.

What’s it like to work with me

I believe in the power of curiosity, creativity, and connection. You’re the expert of your own story, and I hope to collaborate with you to explore that story. The foundation of my work is a person-centered and somatic approach, seeking to create an accepting, non-judgmental, and empathetic therapeutic relationship, as well as to develop an understanding of the connection between the mind and body. While each client’s needs and goals are unique to them, I prioritize developing this relational and somatic safety. We’ll collaborate to build on that foundation through open communication, willingness to learn, and welcoming every part of your into the therapy space. Together, we’ll discover how to access your individual strengths, develop strategies for navigating unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, and grow towards your most authentic self.
